Orange is safe for Border Collies when prepared correctly and offered in appropriate amounts. Oranges are safe for dogs in small amounts but high in sugar for Border Collies. As with any treat, moderation is key — even safe foods can cause digestive upset if given too frequently or in large quantities.
Rich in Vitamin C but high sugar and acidity — remove peel completely. Treats should never make up more than 10% of your Border Collie's total daily calorie intake — the remaining 90% should come from a complete, balanced pet food.
⚠️ Preparation note: Always remove Peel seeds and white pith — high sugar limits quantity before offering Orange to your Border Collie. These parts can be harmful even when the rest of the food is safe.
